Consider if

This is an adventure lodge first, with an all-inclusive rate to match, so it makes most sense if you will use the guiding rather than simply sit still. It is genuinely remote, reached by a domestic flight to Akureyri and a drive of around 90 minutes or a charter, there is no town nearby, and the lodge is often booked for full buyouts by a single group.

Why it's Tranquil

The lodge stands alone on the valley floor, ringed by mountains that rise straight from the fields, with the sea at one end and no other building in sight. The 5,000-square-foot spa is the still centre: a geothermal pool that runs from indoors out under the sky, two floatation tanks, sauna and steam, a yoga room, and rituals built around heat and Arctic plunges. Turf roofs and full-height windows tie the building to the landscape, and after a day out the pace drops to long soaks, chef-cooked dinners and, in winter, the northern lights overhead.
