The Tranquil Summary
A 17-room lodge alone on a 10,000-acre estancia on the Patagonian steppe, halfway between El Calafate and the Perito Moreno Glacier. A Relais & Chateaux member, built in the plain style of a criollo ranch house, with the Andes on one horizon and open grass on the other.
Best for
Travellers who want the silence and scale of the Patagonian steppe, with the glaciers and the mountains within a day's drive.
Consider if
Consider if you want to walk from your room into a national park; EOLO is a driving base on private land, not inside the parks themselves.
Why it's Tranquil
Alone at the centre of 4,000 hectares of grounds, with no neighbours and what the hotel calls the steppe's windy silence. Just 17 rooms, each with couches set in front of big windows onto the lake, steppe or cordillera, and no television. Walking, riding and birdwatching straight from the door on the estate's own land. A sauna and hot tub, Relais & Chateaux dining, and some of the darkest skies in Argentina.
