The Tranquil Summary
A large Four Seasons lodge in the central Serengeti, built on a rise around an infinity pool and a waterhole that elephants and other game visit through the day. Seventy-seven rooms, suites and villas, plus a spa, a wildlife discovery centre and three restaurants, reached by light aircraft to the Seronera airstrips.
Best for
A first safari, families, and travellers who want a serious pool, a spa and full-service comfort between game drives, in a spot where the wildlife often comes to them. The central Serengeti also stays within reach of the migration for much of the year.
Consider if
With 77 units this is a resort-scale lodge inside the national park, not a small private camp, so game drives run on park roads shared with other vehicles and the public areas can feel busy in peak season. Being in the park proper rather than a private concession also rules out night drives and off-road following.
Why it's Tranquil
The lodge is raised above the plains so the view from the pool deck runs unbroken to the horizon, and the waterhole below draws elephant, buffalo and antelope close enough to watch from a lounger. Rooms are spread along elevated walkways among the trees, each with a balcony facing the bush, and the spa and the long midday break are built for the hours when the heat keeps the animals still. After the afternoon drive the sounds are hippo and birdcall rather than anything human.
