Tranquility Index

87 / 100

The Tranquility Index evaluates a hotel’s setting, seclusion and restorative offering based on our research. Firsthand stays may add additional verified insights.

The Tranquil Summary

Fifteen tented pavilions and the premium Dune Pavilion raised on a red dune just outside Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, each with a bed positioned for an uninterrupted view of Uluru. All meals, drinks and signature experiences are included, with a two-night minimum stay.

Best for

A first trip to the Red Centre where you want the rock in view from your pillow and the day's touring already arranged.

Consider if

Children under 15 are not accommodated, and a two-night minimum applies. The pavilions have canvas walls, so this is a soft-sided stay in a desert climate.

Why it's Tranquil

Sixteen pavilions only, each angled so Uluru fills the view from the end of the bed. A short drive outside the national park, on its own dune, with the desert running to the horizon. Rates are inclusive of dining, an open bar and guided experiences at Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Spa Kinara uses Aboriginal massage techniques, and the skies here are some of the clearest in the country.
