The Tranquil Summary
A Six Senses resort on Felicite, a granite private island near La Digue in the Seychelles inner group. Around 30 villas, each with its own infinity pool, are spread across a hillside of boulders and jungle above the beaches on the island's northern end, reached by helicopter from Mahe or by boat from Praslin.
Best for
Honeymoons and couples who want a barefoot private island with real seclusion, strong snorkelling and diving straight off the beaches, and a spa built into the rocks. It also suits families taking one of the larger residences.
Consider if
Getting here means a flight to Mahe or Praslin and then a helicopter or a boat, which adds cost and time to any trip. The island is steep and spread out, so you rely on buggy transfers between the villas, the beaches and the restaurants, and the wetter, windier months from about December to February can bring seaweed onto the sand.
Why it's Tranquil
Felicite has no permanent population and no other resort, so the only people on the beaches and forest trails are other villa guests, and the villas sit far enough apart among the boulders and greenery that none overlooks another. Each has its own infinity pool and a wide view of the Indian Ocean, and the Six Senses Spa is worked into the rocks with open-sided treatment pavilions. With no roads on or off the island, days tend to shrink to a swim, a walk between the beaches and an unhurried dinner.
