The Tranquil Summary
A 15-suite lodge among the vines at Marananga, in the heart of the Barossa Valley, refurbished in 2022. Every suite has a private courtyard and vineyard views, and the acclaimed restaurant Appellation is on site.
Best for
A wine-country stay where the point is to slow right down: a small lodge, a long dinner, and vineyards in every direction.
Consider if
This is a vineyard lodge rather than a remote one; the setting is pastoral and quiet, not wild. Appellation serves dinner only and draws outside diners, so book it early.
Why it's Tranquil
Only 15 suites, each single-storey with its own walled courtyard and an outlook over the vines. Set among Seppeltsfield-district vineyards in the small hamlet of Marananga, away from the main tourist strip. A wet-edge lap pool facing the vineyards, plus a cedar sauna and a gym. Appellation, one of the Barossa's best restaurants, is a few steps across the property.
